FtM vs. Trans Man

I’m sure it’s gone largely unnoticed but I very specifically use FtM and trans man/guy as separate terms. When speaking about a hypothetical slave (e.g. “even better if it’s an ftm that hasn’t had top surgery yet”) or to/about someone who has consented to misgendering and/or humiliation specifically I will use FtM. When speaking about myself or any other trans men who haven’t consented to misgendering I will use trans man/guy.

What’s the difference?

Technically, there isn’t any and in the vanilla world, the terms are used interchangeably. For me, however, it’s just one more (albeit subtle) method to humiliate and dehumanize.

FtM means Female to Male and I use it this way because it’s a lot less personal. It’s more clinical, it’s just describing a gender rather than identifying a person. It also highlights that they aren’t a “real man” (although I actually abhor that term) because it’s putting the emphasis on the act of having been a female and trying to be male.

Trans man/guy is more empowering and humanizing while also having a sense of being more masculine as well. It’s more identifying as a man (versus a “male” which is, again, more clinical). It isn’t necessarily focused on the effort of having gone from AFAB to male but rather saying – I am a man, I just happen to not be a cis man.

I love words and how they can be wielded to empower or destroy or how they can be in your face or woven with careful intricacy. I also make it very well known that I love all forms of mind fuckery and this is just one example of that and how something so seemingly innocuous can be used to creep into the unconscious mind.
